I also believe Knowledge is power. The greater knowledge we have, the easier it becomes to become more effective in what we do. In the months ahead, I want to take advantage of our skilled members with their creativity, experience and knowledge. I would love to extend, encourage , promote and form a stronger link with our local community. I believe to foster the spirit of Lion we must try new things, venture out and twin amongst our communities. We must take advantage of this changing world, grab every opportunity, explore different avenues and go beyond or outside the box. I want to start up an exciting project bonding and linking schools, companies, councils, sponsors and other clubs and create new links with organisations within our district. This is our opportunity to grasp the community and focus on an achievable goal reflecting our value on people. As a Lion, I am always asked “What do you get out of being a Lion”. There are many answers, but basically for me it is satisfaction of doing something worthwhile, utilising and sharing my resources, giving back, making friends, networking and selfishly that warm fuzzy feeling.. especially when helping out. As the newly elected President for the coming year, I will do my best to guide the club, work as a team, fulfil the Pledge and serve the community as a Lion. cheers Maria We are the LionsWe meet the needs of our local communities and the world.
